A while ago I made a post about my foundation hunt, but now I have moved one to yet another foundation. I still really love the lush foundation but you don't get much product for £8. From watching my subscriptions on YouTube I found that a very popular foundation was the match perfection by Rimmel. My friend and I both needed foundations so we got it for each other a a christmas gift. This foundation definitely beats the lush, it gives more coverage but doesn't feel cakey or look unnatural. So the first tip to getting your makeup to last all day would be to find a good foundation that matches your skin colour.
I always want to powder my face after I apply foundation, and using a brush to do this is not always a good idea as it can rub off the foundation and concealer you just applied. I've been trying out different powder puffs from drugstores to find the best one for the greatest price. So far the best one I have found are ones from Superdrug for £1.90 for three. They have a soft flocked surface, which means that it will be soft on your skin, and best of all it helps apply just the right amount of powder to the face. They also have a ribbon across the back which means you can hold it easier. As you can see my next tip would be to apply your powder with a powder puff to set in the foundation.
I'm currently on my second bottle of this and each bottle lasts a long time so it is totally worth the £5.99. I am talking about the vitamin e face mist from the body shop. Not only is this a great hydrater during the day, it is perfect for setting makeup into the skin, leaving your skin feeling moisturized without your makeup sliding off. So definitely use Body Shop's Vitamin E face mist as a final makeup setter.
For my eyes I use an eye primer, this is an essential for everyone as some people's eye makeup will last all day, but not only to I find that a primer helps my eyeshadow to last all day, it also brightens the colours so you can use less product and still get the same affect as you would without primer, sometimes even better. As an eye primer I use the w7 eye primer, which is cheap but works for me. I have heard the urban decay ones are very good. My last tip would be to use an eye primer before using eyeshadow.
