I was so excited when visiting Alaska to find a whole section of Cover Girl, a brand that is hard to get hold of in the UK. I had such high hopes for it as I had seen so many reviews raving about the brand. I've been searching for a good mascara for a while now, one that will give me length, volume, is very black and doesn't cause clumps. After being seriously disappointed by Bobbi Brown (see previous posts) I decided to revert back to good old drugstore, and Cover Girl's 'Clump Crusher Extensions' seemed like my best bet.
Pros:
- it is very black
- it is not clumpy
- good for a natural look - but if your eyelashes are dark anyway, I wouldn't bother at all
(I guess that shows it does work in some aspects)
However it is the length and volume that I am disappointed with:
Cons:
- it adds no length
- it adds no volume
In my opinion it's basically pointless, maybe a good present for your little sister/daughter who's just starting out with makeup, but you still want her to look natural?
Would definitely not buy again

Coconut Oil as a makeup remover?!
I've already made a blog post about the uses of coconut oil - so if you haven't caught on already - I LOVE it. One of the ways I like to use it is to remove my makeup at the end of the day and here's why:
1. It's natural - there are no harmful chemicals that are going to irritate your skin, plus they don't test it on animals, and it's vegan.
2. It's gentle but removes everything - it even removes my waterproof mascara! It kind of breaks down the mascara on the lashes - remember to rub them gently though!
3. It's moisturising - it's especially important to be keeping your face moisturised during these dry winter months, but you should moisturise all year round. Plus, it leaves your skin with a healthy glow.
4. It helps obtain healthier skin - coconut oil has been proven to help skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema
I know that many are sceptical about using oil on their face, but please don't think that if you use oil you are just going to get oilier skin and then get spots - it won't happen. Trust me, I have oily skin and sometimes I use this as a moisturiser.

Review: Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara
I love Bobbi Brown but this mascara just doesn't do it for me. I've tried so hard to love it but I've just ended up going back to my L'Oreal Telescopic.
The Brush:
I actually really like the brush, I feel like it grips all my lashes at the base, but for some reason, I struggle to really get the product all the way to the end of my lashes, hence the length is not achieved.
The formula:
I like the blackness of this mascara, and as far as I can tell the formula is pretty decent. It's definitely a lot drier than the L'Oreal Telescopic though so it's more prone to flaking, although it seemed to stay put the whole day.
The price:
£20
The finished look:
I am going to continue using this mascara for every-day natural look, but in my opinion it is not 'extreme party' mascara. To get a dramatic mascara look, I am much better off using the L'Oreal Telescopic although I will say that I found I get a bit more volume with the Bobbi Brown one. Before buying it I had read so many great reviews, so I think that didn't help with my disappointment as my hopes were very high for this product.
I've been super obsessed with my eyelashes recently and I just wasn't 100% satisfied with the results. My lashes did not look dramatic, just ready for every-day.

Best Buy: Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist
What it's for:
The bottle says it contains rosewater which makes for a refreshing spray, as well it being great for setting makeup! It also describes itself as being a moisture boost. I also like to use it after I've removed my makeup, just to soothe my face. Basically, you can pretty much use this whenever for a quick moisture/radiance pick me up.
How it is as a setting spray:
I love using this as a setting spray; in the summer I use a light layer over powder, and in the winter I just use this (and no powder) because my skin gets too dry. It gives your skin that radiant healthy glow, hence why I spray a lighter layer in summer as my skin gets oily. Plus the most important part is, your makeup really does stay on all day! I have never even thought about buying another product to use as a setting spray - this one is that good!
Who is it for:
All skin types yay! But experiment with how much your skin needs. If you have oily skin like me you will need a bit less. However, I like to put a good layer on before I go to sleep.
Vitamin E and Rosewater:
If you know me you know that I am obsessed with everything Vitamin E. It has antioxidant properties which help heal your skin and get rid of those pesky spots. Rose water is also amazing. It helps control excess oil, helps fight spots. good mood booster and helps with aging skin.
Price:
£9.50 - this may sound expensive to some but it is totally worth it, and the bottle lasts for quite a long time. I always ask for a new bottle for my birthday or Christmas if I'm getting to end of one.
